Now, the ex-Indian captain has spilled the beans on his equation with Virat and why he decided to drop him a message while no one else did. Back then, Virat had said that neither MSD or him suffered from insecurity, adding that both of them shared a genuine connection.

Why Dhoni decided to text Virat Kohli in 2022

During an event, Dhoni was asked about his equation with Virat, citing his message to the ex-Indian skipper in 2022. In response, MSD admitted that while he was not great in keeping in touch with people, he said that he was available to drop in a message at times when they needed someone.

“It’s deja vu. I was asked a similar question recently; you will see the answer during the IPL. I’m not great when it comes to being in touch with people but yeah, certain times when someone needs you, you just drop in a message,” Dhoni said.
